Milk Mustache Mania says Christie Brinkley was the first celebrity to appear in more than one regular milk mustache ad: she was in one of the original five ads that launched the campaign, then appeared again the next year with her children Alexa Ray and Jack Paris. The book calls Britney Spears the second celebrity to do so.
The Milk Mustache Book (1998, p. 34) gives the shoot as July 19, 1995, Los Angeles, and says Brinkley was, when the book was written, the only milk mustache celebrity chosen for a second ad; others followed in later years. This time she posed with her daughter Alexa Ray and Alexa’s then-new baby brother, Jack Paris. Alexa Ray spent much of the day at the mirror studying her mother’s first ad, trying to copy the smile.
A scan of the tear sheet filed with the USPTO on May 13, 1996, as one of the three specimens for the service mark “MILK. What a surprise!” is in the gallery; it shows corner wear and is kept as a document copy beside the main picture.
