Notes

A young man at a diner counter with pancakes and no milk. The still shows him looking at a glass of milk on the counter, seen through the glass.

Made by: California Milk Processor Board (then the California Fluid Milk Processor Advisory Board); agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partners.

Got Milk? The Book (1999) prints the script (pp. 56–57) without a date: the cook tells the young man “She got the last one.”; he steals the woman’s milk and refills her glass with ice water; her large boyfriend sits down; “Check Please.”; the music is “Groove Me”. Six spots were approved in August 1993 and five are named as the launch pool, so this may be the sixth, but the book does not say so (pp. 55, 62).

The AICP Show archive lists it among its 1995 honorees (Advertising Excellence / Campaign, with “Heaven” and “Vending Machine”), client recorded as California Fluid Milk Advisory Board, production company Propaganda Films, directors Michael Bay and Jeff Goodby, agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, art director Joe Shands, writers Harry Cocciolo and Chuck McBride, producer Cindy Epps. So it was made by early 1995; the year here is an estimate from that.
