Notes

Main image replaced with a full-page scan of the ad as printed in Ladies’ Home Journal, autumn 1999 (Internet Archive scan of the bound volume). The earlier picture was a small collector copy. A few characters are lost in the binding gutter at the left edge. The ad itself prints her name as “Virginia Platisha”, and the title here now follows the ad.

Mrs. Virginia Platisha, our newest milk mustache celebrity, has cooked up a $5,500 winner

Congratulations to Mrs. Platisha who won the $5,500 Grand Prize in the second Best Milk Recipes in America contest for her Chocolate-Caramel Bread Pudding. Cooking with milk is one of the best ways that Mrs. Platisha uses to ensure that her family enjoys three glasses of milk each day. What an ingenious way to add both flavor and nine essential nutrients, including calcium, vitamin D, protein, and potassium.
